Budapest Airport Runway 13R-31L, Saturday 1 September 2018: Budapest Airport and anna.aero have confirmed the sixth air transport industry’s premier charity-sportive event – “The Race to Find the Fastest Airline in the World” – will take place at 11:00 on Saturday 1 September 2018 on Budapest Airport’s 13R-31L. Runners from airlines, airports and enterprises across the aviation community are invited to once again take part in the annual 10k race.
All for charity
Since its beginnings the Budapest Airport-anna.aero Runway Run has raised an incredible €130,000 for charity. Last year alone, the run, which was held again in aid of the bone marrow transplant charity, Anthony Nolan, and Hungary’s Suhanj! Foundation, a charity which supports the inclusion of disabled people in sport, raised a record €39,500.
All entry fees – just €35 before July 2018 – are donated to charity. Comprising of three races – 10km (four runway lengths), 5km (a distance manageable even by first-time runners) and 1.5km for children (6-15 years old) – the run is open to all individuals and teams in the aviation community, followed by a superb barbecue on the terrace of Budapest Airport’s historic former Terminal 1 overlooking the re-opened runway.
