Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport: Delta keeps Cincinnati the most expensive US airport
For two years Cincinnati has topped the US DOT’s analysis of air fares at US airports. Delta’s experiment with Simplifares back in 2005 helped, but last year average fares were over 80% higher than the national average. Yet airport charges are below the national average.
Amazingly there are three LCCs competing head-to-head on this route connecting two secondary airports. Blue Air, MyAir.com and Wizz Air each operate between four and six weekly flights.
