Airbus and Boeing match Q1 2017 delivery results in Q1 2018; Boeing has major lead over European rival; Singapore Airlines takes first 787-10

In March, Airbus and Boeing delivered 147 aircraft combined, up from the 136 units distributed in the same month of 2017. As a result of this productivity surge, both have matched the results of Q1 2017 during Q1 2018, an outcome generated due to a productivity slowdown in February of 13%.

Airbus handed over 55 aircraft in September, while its North American rival Boeing distributed 78. Of the 133 aircraft delivered, 73% were narrow-body and 27% wide-body. By delivering 23 more units than Airbus in month nine of 2017, Boeing has extended the lead over its European rival to 100 aircraft in the 2017 delivery race.

Airbus outperformed Boeing for deliveries in May by 7.1%; latter still leads the 2017 race; Malindo Air becomes first 737 MAX 8 operator

Airbus and Boeing in May delivered 116 aircraft between them, down 12 units when compared to the same month of 2016. The fifth month of this year also marked the first time since December that Airbus has outperformed its North American counterpart in relation to monthly deliveries, handing over four more aircraft.

In the fourth month of this year Airbus and Boeing combined handed over 98 units to customers, down from the 106 deliveries they achieved during the same month of 2016. April was historic for South Korean carrier Asiana Airlines, as it welcomed its first A350, an aircraft for which it has 30 orders.
