Japanese domestic air travel market growing again thanks to emergence of AirAsia Japan, Jetstar Japan and Peach
Japan’s two biggest carriers, ANA and Japan Airlines, reported a combined growth of almost 6% in their domestic traffic in 2012. But compared with 2010 demand is still down 7%. However, the new breed of local LCCs has resulted in domestic capacity being almost 8% up in April.

The last week has seen the launch of 35 new routes, of which eight were filling the void in the Mexican market after Mexicana’s demise. Plenty of cakes were baked to celebrate, but which airline opened a new base at a capital city airport? Which airline has changed its name just after launching two new international routes?
