Southwest Airlines is the second largest carrier at Phoenix after American Airlines, with it transporting 34% of passengers from the airport in 2017. Despite not launching a new route for two years, the carrier has increased its annual passenger throughput by 800,000 since 2015. Jonathan Ford explores further.

Airbus and Boeing in February handed over 87 units between them in February, down from a total of 100 aircraft in the same month of 2017. While the result is not great, historic moments did occur in month two of this year, with Qatar Airways getting its first A350-100 and Ryanair picking up eight 737-800s.
