airberlin in 2017 offered over 8.59 million seats on domestic routes in Germany. With the loss of Transavia’s route between Munich and Berlin Schönefeld plus People’s Viennaline ceasing is Friedrichshafen to Cologne Bonn service, the German domestic market could shrink by 25% in 2018.
