This week’s country analysis of the Czech Republic revealed that this summer passengers will have a choice of five carriers on the Paris – Prague route. The two national carriers on the route, Air France and Czech Airlines, code-share and are both members of the SkyTeam alliance. As a result their return fares (including all taxes) for a one-week trip are identical on all days across the period examined. Both airlines serve Paris CDG.
Competition on the route comes from SkyEurope (daily flights to Paris Orly), SmartWings (to Paris CDG) and from the end of June, Wizz Air with four weekly flights to/from Paris Beauvais. Smartwings’ frequency on the route varies significantly across the season from two flights per week to daily.

A simple average of all return fares across the time range shows that Air France / Czech Airlines is the most expensive at €345 with SkyEurope some 35% cheaper at €222. However, SmartWings is consistently cheaper than SkyEurope and averages just €175. Although Wizz Air does not start the route until the end of June its fares are by far the cheapest averaging just €65 for a return fare.
