Now Ryanair’s Ken O’Toole joins BASEJUMPING!

Weeeeeeeeeee!!! Ryanair’s recently-appointed Director of New Route Development, Ken O’Toole, joins anna.aero’s “BASEJUMPING.” Participation by the world’s most active network planner was seen as vital to the future success of BASEJUMPING – the low cost airline base development exercise which takes place ACI EUROPE’s Airport Exchange in Barcelona 23-25 November 2009, hosted by Aena.

Ryanair’s recently-appointed Director of New Route Development, Ken O’Toole, has signed up to take part in ACI EUROPE/anna.aero’s “BASEJUMPING” initiative at the 2nd anna.aero Network Planning Marketplace hosted by Aena at ACI EUROPE’s Airport Exchange in Barcelona 23-25 November 2009.

BASEJUMPING is a new type of session at the 2nd Network Planning Marketplace which will be entirely devoted to a specific large LCC. The session leads off with an examination of route development opportunities from an airline’s bases as perceived by that airline’s senior network planner. This is followed by a series of “Base Development Studies” presented by a selection of the featured airline’s base airports on where these airports also see the most promising new links.

Ryanair, Europe’s largest low cost carrier, is the second major airline to agree to take part after vueling, the newly-merged and third-largest European low cost operator, signed up last week. “It was vital for Ryanair to come on board – this week anna.aero reports on 60 new routes, 34 of which are from Ryanair, so we really needed the world’s most active network planner to take part in BASEJUMPING for it to succeed” said anna.aero publisher, Paul J. Hogan.
