Cake of the week – last week’s winning “Madeira cake”
Update: “Madeira cake” is the winner!
An incredible 804 anna.aero readers took part in last week’s global vote to select anna.aero’s Cake of the Week from the 11-cake shortlist. The winner by a significant margin was transavia.com, for Porto to Funchal, despite heavily organised voting which put Tiger Airways (Brisbane to Melbourne, Adelaide and Rockhampton) and Pacific Blue (Auckland to Cairns) into second and third place.
Hearty congratulations to Porto Airport which actually entered the cake – and for those network planners who do not excel in baking matters – there actually is a delicious sponge recipe called Madeira Cake – a curious coincidence as we can assert that this poll is in no way fixed.
The cakes emerged from the many celebrations marking the 150 route launches in the 1st Phase of the 2010 Summer Season.
