Cake of the Week second round voting: easyJet Malta-Milan cake crushes all opposition

Honestly – at the risk of indigestion we promise not to serve cakes at every visit – but this week’s launches – phase 2 of the start of the summer season – have resulted in another bumper harvest and we need your help choosing the winner again (thank-you). Next week it’s back to the secret judging panel.

Update: This week’s Cake of the Week Results

It was a landslide victory for the Maltese-baked easyJet Malta-Milan cake which took an overwhelming 56% of the popular vote, pushing airBaltic (Riga to Kuusamo) and Qatar Airways (Doha to Copenhagen) into a distant second and third. However, it has to be said that the iced replica of Milan’s Cathedral was a very hard act to beat in our online poll – the second and last in our series to mark the start of the summer season’s route launches. While congratulating all our winners and finalists, we’d also like to thank the astonishing 1,200 readers who have taken part in judging the cakes. For the rest of the summer, selection of Cake of the Week returns to the competence of’s secret jury.
