Hainan Airlines’ daily new service between Beijing and South Korea’s second-largest city Busan was celebrated with a traditional route launch banner. The route is now served by two airlines from each country.
- Hainan Airlines launched two new routes in the last week. On 29 June, the airline began operating from its Beijing (PEK) hub to South Korea’s second city Busan (PUS). The daily flights compete with Asiana’s 11, Korean Air’s nine and Air China’s seven weekly flights. The following day, Hainan Airlines began operating twice-weekly between Manzhouli (NZH) in the northeast of the country, bordering Russia, and Chita (HTA) in Russia, merely 400 kilometres apart. Both new routes are operated with 164-seat 737-800s.
