Lufthansa Italia launched two seasonal summer routes to Mediterranean islands
Lufthansa Italia, which is to be shut down at the end of the summer season, launched two seasonal summer sunshine routes to Mediterranean islands on 2 July. From its Milan Malpensa (MXP) base, the airline now flies each four times weekly to Cagliari (CAG) on the Italian island of Sardinia and to Palma de Mallorca (PMI) in Spain. Both routes are operated with the airline’s 132-seat A319s. Competition to Cagliari comes from easyJet’s 14 flights a week and a weekly service on board Meridiana, while the Palma route competes with easyJet’s 13 weekly flights and six flights a week on Alitalia’s subsidiary Air One.
