As China Southern launched its second route to Irkutsk in Russia, passengers in Shenyang were eager to check-in for the first flight.
- China Southern on 9 June launched a weekly service between Shenyang (SHE) in northeast China and Irkutsk (IKT), 1860 kilometres away by Lake Baikal in Russia, close to the Mongolian border. Flights operate with 115-seat A319 aircraft. This is China Southern’s second route to Irkutsk after also weekly Dalian flights. From Irkutsk, S7 and Hainan Airlines also operate a third Chinese route; to Beijing.
