SkyWork launches new routes from Bern to Rome and Vienna

SkyWork now flies from Switzerland’s capital Bern to the capitals of both Italy and Austria. At the celebrations in Vienna, the ribbon held by the airline’s captain was cut by Mathias Häberli, CEO Airport Bern-Belp; Julian Jäger, COO Vienna Airport; Günther Ofner, CFO Vienna Airport; and Tomislav Lang, CEO SkyWork Airlines.

  • SkyWork, the Swiss regional airline based in the country capital Bern (BRN), launched two new routes capital cities of two neighbouring countries on 5 September. The airline now flies six times weekly to Vienna (VIE) in Austria and five times weekly to Rome Fiumicino (FCO) in Italy. 31-seat Dornier 328 aircraft are used on both routes. Tomislav Lang, CEO SkyWork Airlines, commented: “I am delighted to be able to offer customers an ever wider choice from Bern. Our aim is to grow as an attractive and dependable partner and employer in the region. This also includes an on-going expansion of the route network.” This winter, the airline plans to launch four further routes – Amsterdam, Belgrade, Budapest and Madrid – bringing its number of destinations served from Bern to 14.
