Route of the Week: Air France’s Bordeaux-Nantes
-Brussels
Air France’s new Bordeaux-Nantes-Brussels service was celebrated at the Belgian capital airport by Vincent Coste, Air France-KLM’s GM Belgium & Luxembourg; Ward Decaluwe, Brussels Airport’s director operations; Michel Peyre, director Belgium & Luxembourg at ATOUT France; and Michèle Boccoz, French ambassador to Belgium. After cutting the ribbon, it was also time to cut the cake for the route that operates twice-daily on weekdays and once on Sundays.
- Air France expanded with 13 new routes on one day; 2 October. Two of the routes were launched out of Nantes (NTE) with 37-seat ERJ135s from the Régional fleet; 11 weekly flights to Brussels (BRU) and six flights a week to Düsseldorf (DUS). The Brussels service originates in Bordeaux, thereby providing the Belgian capital with a one-stop connection; however, Bordeaux-Nantes is already a sector operated by Air France and thereby not a new route. The remaining 11 routes launched by the French national carrier are from Marseille Provence (MPS), as detailed in the airline analysis this week as well as summarised in the table below.
