SilkAir launches new route from Singapore to Bandung in Indonesia

  • SilkAir, Singapore Airlines’ regional subsidiary, expanded its Indonesian network on 11 October when it launched flights from its Singapore (SIN) hub to Bandung (BDO), Indonesia’s third-largest city and the capital of West Java province. The route is initially operated three times weekly, but frequencies increase to five weekly at the start of the winter scheduling season. Competition comes from Indonesia AirAsia’s twice-daily service as well as three flights a week on Batavia Air and a twice-weekly service with Merpati Nusantara Airlines.
