Iberia launches two new international routes from Madrid

  • Iberia expanded its international network from Madrid (MAD). On 25 October, the Spanish airline launched its new twice weekly service to Luanda (LAD), the capital of Angola, which is operated with 254-seat A340-300 aircraft. This is the airline’s 12th African destination. Iberia expects nearly 70% of passengers on the new route to transfer to and from other services in Madrid. On 30 October, its regional franchisee Air Nostrum commenced a new daily route to Manchester (MAN). Notably, the route is the first new route launched to be operated with the airline’s 100-seat CRJ1000 aircraft. Competition on the route comes from Ryanair’s four and easyJet’s three weekly services.

As per usual you completely forget Glasgow!!! Just because we’re in Scotland doesn’t make us less important, after all Glasgow is the second city of Britain!!! Iberia launched Madrid-Glasgow yesterday (1 November 2011).
