CSA Czech Airlines launches new route to Samara from Karlovy Vary

  • CSA Czech Airlines launched its third route out of Karlovy Vary (KLV) in western Czech Republic on 2 November. The SkyTeam carrier now flies once a week to Samara (KUF) on the Volga in Russia with 128-seat A319 aircraft, adding to the airline’s also Russian services to Moscow and St Petersburg. The service complements the airline’s four weekly flights to Samara from its Prague hub. Czech regional airports increasingly capture traffic between the Czech Republic and Russia as the demand is greater than what the restrictive bilateral agreement permits to and from Prague. At the time of the new route’s announcement, Czech Airlines’ VP sales and marketing Jiří Marek said: “Right now, we’re working on further business developments including the launch of several new routes in Eastern Europe over the next 12 months in strict adherence to our principles of gradual change in Czech Airlines’ route network.”
