Germania links Bremen to Madeira with weekly flights

Celebrating the new route to Madeira together with the Germania crew were Bremen Airport’s Daniela Langenhagen, Communications and Marketing, and Florian Kruse, Head of Public Relations and Marketing.

  • Germania, the German leisure airline, has started a new weekly service between Bremen (BRE) and Funchal (FNC) on Madeira in Portugal. Bremen, which became a Ryanair base in April 2007, has seen terminal passenger numbers fall by 3.1% in the first nine months of 2011, mostly as a result of Ryanair cutting capacity in response to the German government’s introduction of a departure tax at the beginning of the year. In contrast, Madeira Airport has seen passenger numbers grow by 5.6% in the period January to October.
