Route of the Week:
Allegiant Air’s Phoenix Mesa, AZ, to Appleton, WI
Allegiant’s “pack your bags” party was visibly very popular, with two lucky ‘spontaneous’ travellers boarding the inaugural flight winning round trip tickets and a three-night stay in Phoenix. Those cakes are prickly pear cookies – an Arizonan specialty. The party joined Marty Lenss, Director, Appleton Airport; Thomas Nelson, Outagamie (Wisconsin) County Executive, and Kristine Cooper, Public Relations Manager, Allegiant Air.
- Allegiant Air is now offering non-stop flights from Appleton (ATW) in Wisconsin to Phoenix-Mesa (AZA) in Arizona. The twice-weekly flights will operate on Thursdays and Sundays using a 150-seat MD-80. Announcing the route back in August, Andrew Levy, Allegiant Travel Company President, said, “We are extremely pleased to expand the Allegiant brand of low-fare, non-stop, jet service in Appleton. We are confident the Appleton community will appreciate flying nonstop to the Phoenix-Mesa area and take advantage of the great deals we offer on vacation packages to this popular destination.” Martin Lenss, Airport Director of Appleton’s Outagamie County Airport said, “The Outagamie County Airport is pleased to see Allegiant’s service grow in the Fox Cities. The Phoenix-Mesa announcement is testament to Allegiant’s continued confidence in the region’s market — a confidence that stems from the community’s strong response to Allegiant’s non-stop service to Las Vegas and Orlando flights. We welcome Allegiant’s continued partnership and we anticipate a very positive reaction from Northeast Wisconsin residents to the new non-stop service to Phoenix-Mesa.”
