China Southern launches route to Perth in Australia

The very formal send-off from Beijing – and the rather more Aussie-style informal arrival in Perth: Si Xianmin, China Southern Chairman, and Colin Barnett, Premier of Western Australia cut the cake and exchange gifts.

  • China Southern launched its fourth route to Australia on 8 November when the SkyTeam member became the first airline to connect Mainland China with Perth (PER) in Western Australia. Flights are operated from Beijing (PEK) via Guangzhou (CAN) three times weekly – on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, returning the following day – with 284-seat A330-300 aircraft. China Southern already flies to Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney in Australia.
