vivaaerobus adds two more US routes from Monterrey

The special San Antonio Texan welcome for vivaaerobus – a cake in the national colours of Mexico.

  • vivaaerobus has launched its fourth and fifth US routes from Monterrey (MTY) to Miami (MIA) in Florida and San Antonio (SAT) in Texas. Miami will be served with two weekly flights (Monday and Friday), while San Antonio gets three weekly flights (Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday). The San Antonio market is already served daily (except on Wednesday) by AeroMexico Connect operating small regional jets. vivaaerobus already serves Chicago Midway, Houston Bush and Las Vegas from Monterrey, and will commence weekly flights to Orlando later this week. According to Mexican government statistics vivaaerobus’ share of the domestic air travel market this summer has varied between 11% and 14%. However, by carrying just under 6,000 passengers on international flights in September the airline has just 0.4% of the scheduled international market.
