Avianca, the Colombian national airline now merged with TACA of Central America, has introduced a new five-times weekly service from Bogotá (BOG) to La Paz (LPB) in Bolivia using an A319. This is currently the only direct service between the capitals of Colombia and Bolivia. According to OAG data, the market was last served by Lloyd Aereo Boliviano on a weekly basis between May 1995 and June 1998. Avianca last operated the route around 30 years ago!
