Porter adds international service to Burlington in Vermont
Porter Airlines has introduced a new, seasonal, twice-weekly service (initially on Mondays and Thursdays) from its home base at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ) to Burlington International Airport (BTV) in Vermont using its Q400 aircraft. Robert Deluce, president and CEO of Porter Airlines said: “Our new service to Vermont is a perfect complement to our current winter schedule already featuring prime destinations such as Mont Tremblant and Quebec City. Burlington offers access to an incredible array of spectacular ski hills, and a vibrant community to explore.” Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin added: “This is a great partnership that will boost tourism in Vermont and provide an economic boost to our ski areas.” The service will operate until 8 April 2012. Burlington International Airport handled around 1.3 million passengers in 2010, ranking it just outside the Top 100 airports in the US. This new international service to Toronto City is currently the only international service to and from Burlington.
