Lufthansa launches new route from Berlin Tegel to Milan Linate
- Lufthansa resumed services between Berlin Tegel (TXL) and Milan Linate (LIN) on 9 January. Ahead of the German carrier’s Berlin expansion at the opening of Berlin Brandenburg International Airport this summer, the airline now flies this route six times weekly with 124-seat 737-300 aircraft. Lufthansa has operated the route in the past, most recently between 2001 and 2004, while the airline to have operated the route more recently is Air One, which served the German capital from Milan’s city airport 2006-2008. Indirect competition comes from airberlin’s 10 flights a week to Milan Malpensa and easyJet’s 12 weekly operations from Berlin Schönefeld to Malpensa.
