ANA All Nippon Airways launches two domestic routes in Japan

  • ANA All Nippon Airways launched two domestic routes on 25 March. From its Tokyo Narita (NRT) hub, the Star Alliance airline’s regional subsidiary Air Nippon now flies daily to Niigata (KIJ) in the northwest of the country, a distance of 270 kilometres, with 56-seat Q300s. There are no other air routes to either Tokyo airport, but the city is connected with the country capital by high-speed rail. The same day, ANA also connected Fukuoka (FUK) with Miyazaki (KMI), both on the southern island of Kyushu. The 210-kilometre route is operated twice-daily with 737-500s, competing with JAL’s subsidiary Japan Air Commuter, which operates the route 63 times a week.
