Monarch launches seven new route between UK and Italy
- London Luton headquartered (but Swiss-owned) Monarch Airlines is expanding its scheduled operations this summer with the introduction of some 17 new routes. For starters, the airline is launching seven routes between its four UK bases and three Italian airports. Milan Malpensa (MXP) will be served from three UK bases, with Rome Fiumicino (FCO) and Venice (VCE) both served from two bases. All routes will be operated by the airline’s fleet of A320s. Direct competition will be provided by a variety of carriers including Air One, bmibaby, British Airways, easyJet and Flybe.
