SkyWork launches new routes to Cologne/Bonn and Thessaloniki from Bern

The friendly played last summer between Bern’s FC Thun and Cologne’s FC Köln ended up with a draw, but local passion for football found its way onto this spectacular cake, which was baked to celebrate SkyWork’s new route connecting the two cities. It is here seen presented by Cologne Bonn Airport’s Kerstin Schweitzer, Head of Business Development and Aviation Marketing Europe & Low Cost, and Sebastian Maurans, Manager Business Development and Aviation Marketing Europe & Low Cost, to SkyWork’s Head of Sales, Tom Kurzweg, and GAS’s Managing Director, Andreas Becker.

  • The Swiss regional carrier SkyWork further expanded the offering from its base in Bern (BRN). The start of the summer season sees the airline introduce services to Cologne/Bonn (CGN) in Germany, as well as Thessaloniki (SKG) in Greece. The Cologne/Bonn routing will be operated with 11 weekly frequencies, including two daily flights during the week and an additional service on Sundays; 31-seat Do328 turbo-prop aircraft will be deployed on the route. Flights to the northern Greek city of Thessaloniki will be offered on a twice-weekly basis, albeit with larger Q400s, which accommodate 72 passengers. Neither of the routes was operated beforehand.
