General Santos in the Philippines celebrated the arrival of two new AirPhil Express services. The low cost airline launched flights from both Cebu and Iloilo City, each operating three times weekly.
Also in Dipolog were there celebrations as AirPhil Express launched Cebu services with its Q400 aircraft.
- On 22 March, AirPhil Express expanded its presence in Cebu (CEB), launching three new domestic routes. Dipolog (DPL), General Santos (GES) and Puerto Princesa (PPS) are each served with thrice-weekly flights. 76-seat Q400s will be used on all three routes. AirPhil Express faces competition from another Philippine carrier in all new markets from its Cebu base; Cebu Pacific offers six weekly flights to Dipolog, seven weekly to General Santos and 10 to Puerto Princesa. In addition to its growth at Cebu, AirPhil Express launched serviced from General Santos (GES) to Iloilo City (ILO) on Panay Island. The 600-kilometre route will be served thrice-weekly using the same equipment.
