Air France launches Toulouse base and London City to Brest flights

Malta is a new destination for Air France, which launched operations to the Mediterranean island nation as part of the opening of its new Toulouse base. Passengers were welcomed with traditional Maltese pastries – and a spectacular cake featuring the Toulouse ‘skyline’, an Air France aircraft, the Pont Neuf and a Maltese fishing boat.

Air France subsidiary CityJet arrived in Brest in France’s Brittany from its London City base. The new route is operated twice a week with F50s.

  • Air France continued its expansion in the French regions by launching its Toulouse (TLS) base, resulting in 10 routes being launched on 1-2 April, as detailed in the table below. Notably, Air France has avoided routes that compete with low-cost airlines, of which both easyJet and Vueling are based in Toulouse. The Hamburg route is notable for connecting two major Airbus sites. On 30 March, the airline also expanded its French network from its base at London City (LCY), which is operated by its subsidiary CityJet. The airline now flies twice-weekly to Brest (BES) in Brittany in northwestern France using 50-seat Fokker 50s.
