easyJet launches Mediterranean routes and Lisbon base
easyJet’s latest base is in Portugal’s capital Lisbon, which has lead to the addition of five new routes; all but one in competition with at least TAP Portugal. This Portuguese ‘Rooster of Barcelos’ cake was offered among other snacks for the large crowd of Portuguese media that showed great interest in the new base.
- easyJet launched 10 new routes in the last week, five through the establishment of its latest base in Lisbon (LIS), as detailed in this week’s base analysis produced on-site in the Portuguese capital where anna.aero also interviewed the airline’s CEO Carolyn McCall. The remaining routes are from Edinburgh (EDI), Geneva (GVA) and London Luton (LTN) to the Mediterranean, with only the route from the Swiss city to the Greek capital Athens (ATH) exceeding two weekly frequencies.
