United extends its Washington to Dubai service with a connection to Doha
- On 30 April, United launched daily services from Washington Dulles, DC (IAD) to Doha (DOH) via Dubai. The stopping service is an extension of the airline’s existing Dubai service, and comes in retaliation to the recently announced intentions by Etihad and Emirates to serve the US capital. 269-seat 777 aircraft will be deployed on the route, and the offer includes 40 seats in business and eight in first class. James Mueller, United’s VP Atlantic & Pacific Sales, said: “Our customers in both the U.S. and Qatar will benefit from increased travel opportunities and options with this new service.” Qatar Airways is the only competitor and serves the route with daily non-stop flights. Other Middle Eastern destinations in United’s network include Kuwait City and Bahrain.
