Brussels Airlines takes over Basel route from Swiss International Air Lines
Brussels Airlines took over the route between Brussels (BRU) and Basel (BSL) from fully Lufthansa-owned Swiss International Air Lines on 21 May. The Belgian Star Alliance member then began operating 11 times weekly to EuroAirport, at the borders between Switzerland, France and Germany. Flights operate with 97-seat Avro RJ100 aircraft, except during the summer holiday season between mid-July and the end of August, when smaller Q400s will be used instead. Although there currently is no competition on the route, easyJet will begin operating six weekly flights at the start of the winter scheduling season.
