WestJet launches new Canadian domestic destination; Whitehorse in Yukon

  • WestJet added a new domestic Canadian destination to its network on 17 May. From Vancouver (YVR) on the Pacific coast, the airline now flies daily to Whitehorse (YXY), the capital of Yukon, the territory bordering Alaska. Flights are operated with 119-seat 737-600 aircraft and competes with Air Canada’s twice-daily and Air North’s 13 weekly flights on the same route. John MacLeod, WestJet’s VP Network Management and Alliances, commented: “Whitehorse’s impressive landscape and year-round outdoor adventures make it an ideal getaway for any traveller. We’re also pleased to offer residents of the Yukon daily access to WestJet’s 75-city North American, Mexican and Caribbean network.”
