Carpatair launches new route between Chisinau and Venice

Carpatair’s new 737-300 aircraft was baptised in Chisinau, before departing on the first flight from the Moldovan capital to Venice in Italy. The crew were given flowers and refreshments ahead of the inaugural flight. The airline will continue expanding from Chisinau with additional flights to Italy, with Rome and Milan Bergamo being next in line.

  • Carpatair, the Romanian regional airline, launched a new route out of neighbouring Moldova’s capital Chisinau (KIV) as part of a liberalised agreement between Moldova and the EU. As of 4 June, the airline serves Venice (VCE) in Italy twice weekly in competition with Air Moldova’s thrice-weekly and Meridiana fly’s weekly services. Carpatair already serves Venice from its home base in Timisoara. The new route is operated with 148-seat 737-300 aircraft.
