Transaero launches flights to Girona in Spain and Simferopol in Ukraine

  • Transaero launched two routes to coastal holiday destinations from Moscow in the last week; both with 101-seat 737-500 aircraft. On 1 June, the Russian airline began operating weekly flights between Moscow Domodedovo (DME) and Girona (GRO) on Spain’s Costa Brava. Flights operate seasonally until 28 September. The following day, the airline launched three weekly flights from Moscow Vnukovo (VKO) to Simferopol (SIP) on the Ukraine’s Crimea peninsula. The airline already serves the Ukrainian airport with twice-weekly flights from Domodedovo. Simferopol is served with a total of 62 weekly frequencies from the three Moscow airports, of which UTair and Aerosvit compete directly with Transaero at Vnukovo with daily and three weekly frequencies respectively.
