Carpatair launches new routes from Moldova to Italy

  • Carpatair of Romania continued expanding with routes to Italy out of its foreign base in Moldova’s capital Chisinau (KIV). The new routes, which follow last week’s reported route launch to Venice, serve the Italian capital airport Rome Fiumicino (FCO) as of 5 June and Milan Bergamo (BGY) in the north of the country from 7 June. Each of the two routes is served three times weekly with 148-seat 737-300 aircraft. The route to the capital faces competition from Air Moldova’s also thrice-weekly operations as well as Meridiana fly’s weekly flights.
