Lufthansa launches summer routes from Berlin Tegel Airport

  • Lufthansa continued its expansion in the German capital, launching seven summer season routes from Berlin Tegel (TXL) in the last week; three of which are to the Croatian coast. The services to Bastia (BIA), Dubrovnik (DBV), Split (SPU) and Zadar (ZAD) were previously operated from Berlin Schönefeld by Lufthansa’s low-cost subsidiary germanwings and are now taken over by the full-service parent. Three of Lufthansa’s new routes face competition at either of Berlin’s two airports. The route to Reykjavik now is the most competitive, now having four operating airlines. Notably, WOW air also launched its Berlin-Reykjavik route this week.
