S7 launches new route from Irkutsk to Yakutsk; adds two summer destinations from Moscow Domodedovo
- On 8 June, S7 commenced weekly intra-Siberian service form Irkutsk (IKT) to Yakutsk (YKS). Flights on the 1,900-kilometre route, which connects the southern Siberian Irkutsk Oblast and the diamond-rich Sakha Republic, are operated with A320s. Yakutia Airlines and IrAero each provide twice-weekly flights on the route. In addition, S7 also launched two seasonal services from Moscow Domodedovo (DME). On 7 and 9 June respectively, flights to Croatian Dubrovnik (DBV) and Ukrainian Odessa (ODS) were inaugurated using A319s. One and four weekly frequencies are offered respectively to these destinations popular with Russian tourists. Transaero competes on both summer sun routes as it serves Dubrovnik with one and Odessa with nine weekly flights. VIM Airlines offers a further weekly service to the Ukrainian city.
