VivaColombia launches services from Medellín to Bucaramanga in Colombia
- On 8 June, VivaColombia, Colombia’s first low-cost airline, added a sixth route from its base airport in Medellín (MDE). Flights to the capital of the north-eastern Colombian region of Santander, Bucaramanga (BGA), are now performed with five weekly frequencies using the airline’s fleet of A320s. Fred Jacobsen, VivaColombia’s CEO, said: “We are confident that Bucaramanga is an attractive destination for passengers originating in Medellín, and would like to see frequencies on the route raise to daily sometime soon.” Until now, passengers had to transfer in Bogotá.
