ATA Airlines of Iran launches flights to Batumi in Georgia
The captain of ATA Airlines’ first flight to Batumi on Georgia’s Black Sea coast got the honour of cutting the cake welcoming the Iranian carrier.
- The Iranian carrier ATA Airlines launched two routes to Georgia’s Black Sea resort city Batumi (BUS) on 28 June. The airline now flies its A320 aircraft twice a week – on Mondays and Thursdays – from Tehran Mehrabad (THR), the Iranian capital’s city airport, and once weekly – on Thursdays – from Tabriz (TBZ) in the north west of the country. TAV Georgia’s GM, Mete Erkal, said: “We are happy to welcome air company ATA Airlines in Batumi International Airport. We appreciate the great interest, which tourists from Iran express towards Georgia and hope that they will spend pleasant time in Batumi seaside.”
