Cutting the ribbon for Iceland Express’ route to Lithuania’s capital Vilnius were Tomas Vaisvila, CEO Vilnius International Airport, and Skarphéðinn Berg Steinarsson, CEO Iceland Express. Both passengers and crew then enjoyed the gingerbread cakes with Iceland Express writing that were handed out by the airport staff.
- Iceland Express launched a new seasonal operation between the capitals of Iceland and Lithuania. On 26 June, the virtual low-cost airline began operating once weekly between Reykjavik Keflavik (KEF) and Vilnius (VNO) with 180-seat A320s. The route is scheduled overnight, operating until the end of August.
