Ryanair launches two routes from Canary Islands to Oviedo; adds Zadar to East Midlands network
- On 26 and 27 June respectively, Ryanair launched weekly services to Asturias (OVD), the northern Spanish province, from two airports in the Canary Islands; Gran Canaria (LPA) and Tenerife South (TFS). The Spanish carrier Air Europa provides competition on both domestic routes; it offers twice-weekly flights from Gran Canaria, and five weekly from Tenerife Sur. Additionally, the Irish low-cost carrier further expanded its presence in East Midlands (EMA) in the UK, as it added twice-weekly flights to Zadar (ZAD) on the central Croatian coast.
