Vietnam Airlines expands China network with Chengdu route from Hanoi

  • Vietnam Airlines launched a route to its fifth destination in Mainland China on 26 June when the SkyTeam carrier connected the Vietnamese capital Hanoi (HAN) with Chengdu (CTU) in southwest China. The airline operates the route thrice-weekly. Vietnam Airlines’ CEO, Dr Pham Ngoc Minh, has previously told anna.aero how China is a strong and growing market for the airline. The route was intended to be operated with 79-seat Fokker 70 aircraft, but strong demand means that capacity instantly has been upgraded to 184-seat A321s on all three weekly flights in July and on two out of three flights from August onwards.
