Ryanair steps up the game for Wizz Air in Warsaw Modlin; adds a Spanish domestic route

  • Ryanair launched the five routes in the first two days of the winter scheduling season. Four of the new routes that commenced last week involved Warsaw Modlin (WMI), the new low-cost airport serving Poland’s capital, where Ryanair and Wizz Air compete fiercely for passengers. Only one of Ryanair’s new routes therefore does not see competition between the two carriers; Frankfurt Hahn (HHN). In addition, the low-cost carrier added a new domestic service in Spain, and now connects Reus (REU) on the Mediterranean coast with Santiago de Compostela (SCQ) in the north-western region of Galicia.
