Aeroflot’s welcome to Miami; Eindhoven bakes cake for Wizz Air; 200,000 Lufthansa passengers at Moscow Vnukovo

Miami Airport officially welcomed  Aeroflot’s new services  from  Moscow Sheremetyevo  on 30 October. Both Aeroflot and Transaero, which launched  services to Miami two years ago , benefit from dynamically growing traffic between Russia and the US – 24% in 2011.

Five new routes  were launched in Wizz Air’s new base in Macedonian  Skopje  last week, including the twice-weekly service to  Eindhoven . The airline’s Corporate Communications Director, Daniel de Carvalho posed with the launch cake.

Lufthansa and Moscow Vnukovo welcomed the airline’s 200,000th passenger at the Russian capital airport last week with sweet treats. The airline, which began serving the Moscow airport  last March with services from Frankfurt , now also offers flights from Düsseldorf, Hamburg and Berlin.

A Virgin Australia 737 aircraft departing for Port Moresby was the first to be ceremoniously welcomed onto the brand-new Taxiway Bravo in Brisbane. The “missing link” taxiway significantly improves the airport’s efficiency, especially with regard to international flying.
