Air Arabia launches new routes to Russia and Kazakhstan

  • Air Arabia continued expanding its network to CIS countries from its Sharjah (SHJ) base in the United Arab Emirates, launching three new routes; two to Russia and one to Kazakhstan. On 31 October, the low-cost airline began serving Kazakhstan’s capital Astana (TSE), followed by flights to Rostov-on-Don (ROV) in southern Russia on 2 November. On 3 November, flights followed to Kazan (KZN) by the river Volga. Each of the three routes is operated twice a week with the airline’s A320 aircraft. Although none of the routes face direct competition, flydubai indirectly competes at nearby Dubai International Airport on the Kazan route with four weekly operations.
