Germania launches two routes to the Canary Islands from Weimar/Erfurt
Matthias Köhn, Erfurt/Weimar Airport’s CEO, welcomed the crew operating Germania’s inaugural flight to Tenerife Sur.
- Germania inaugurated services to two destinations in the Spanish Canary Islands from Erfurt/Weimar (ERF). The airline, which focuses on carrying leisure and ethnic traffic, now serves both Tenerife South (TFS) and Gran Canaria (LPA) with weekly frequencies. Previously, both destinations were served by airberlin; however, the airline pulled its Spanish routes from Erfurt/Weimar in May 2011 as part of the airline’s network reorganisation. Both services, which launched on 3 and 4 November respectively, will be operated with the airline’s fleet of 737-700s.
