XL Airways launches one route each to the Vanilla Islands and the Caribbean

  • XL Airways expanded its winter offering from France to the French overseas outposts in both the Indian Ocean and the Caribbean. On 13 December, the carrier launched flights on the 8,800-kilometre route from Marseille (MRS) in southern France, to St. Denis de la Reunión (RUN) in the Indian Ocean. Weekly A330-200-operated services compete with Air Austral’s twice-weekly frequencies. On 17 December, the airline also commenced serving Fort-de-France (FDF) on the Caribbean Island of Martinique, also a French overseas department. Thrice-weekly flights from Paris CDG (CDG) are operated using A330-300 in competition with Air France’s weekly departures.
