SAS launches two seasonal routes in Finland; resumes services from Copenhaged to Newcastle

Celebratory Viking hat cake was presented in Newcastle for the arrival of SAS’ new service from Copenhagen. Christian Wild, the airline’s Key Account Manager; and Chris Sanders, the airport’s Aviation Development Director, performed the cake-cutting ceremony.

  • SAS inaugurated three new routes in the first week of February, one domestic in Finland and two international, one each from Helsinki (HEL) and Copenhagen (CPH). Notably, the carrier returned on the 900-kilometre route from the Danish capital to Newcastle (NCL), which it last served in August 2006. The service was then picked up by Cimber Sterling in April 2007 and then lost last February as a result of the carrier’s demise
